First Teaser Trailer for Chase Thriller 'The Iris Affair' with Niamh Algar

The Iris Affair Teaser

"What's the problem that needs solving?" "One that matters..." Something involving a complex calculation? Hmm what could it be. Sky TV has revealed the teaser trailer for a new chase thriller series titled The Iris Affair, from the same creator behind the successful "Luther" series. It sounds a lot like a Dan Brown story. A rootless genius, Iris Nixon, steals an enigmatic code from a charming philanthropist and then disappears. A tense countdown ensues as she races to unravel the code's mystery. From acclaimed writer, creator and showrunner Neil Cross, The Iris Affair is a tense and cinematic chase thriller that pits two brilliant minds against each other in a deadly game of hide and seek across Italy – from Florence to Sardinia to Rome and back. With Niamh Algar as Iris & Tom Hollander as Cameron, with Kristofer Hivju, Harry Lloyd, Meréana Tomlinson, Sacha Dhawan, Debi Mazar, Marco Leonardi, Peter Sullivan, Lorenzo De Moor, and Maya Sansa. This is a snazzy trailer, but it still looks like a cheesy TV show. Check it out below.

Must Watch Trailer for 'Good Boy' Doggie Horror Film About a Pooch

Good Boy Trailer

"Genuinely unnerving..." 🐕 IFC Films has debuted the first official trailer for one of this year's major indie horror breakouts titled Good Boy, a horror film told from the perspective of the "good boy" family dog in the story. The dog IS the horror hero this time. The first feature from filmmaker Ben Leonberg, this initially premiered at the 2025 SXSW Film Festival earlier in the year. And it's out in theaters starting in October this fall. A loyal dog named Indy moves to a rural home with his owner Todd, only to discover supernatural forces lurking in the shadows. As dark entities threaten his human companion, the brave pup must fight to protect the one he loves most. Good Boy features Indy the Dog as Indy the Dog, with Larry Fessenden, Arielle Friedman, Shane Jensen, Anya Krawcheck, & Stuart Rudin. This already has great reviews playing on the festival circuit and it's likely going to be a big hit once it's in theaters in a few months. "To say Indy's debut stands out from the pack is an understatement—it's paving the way for horror filmmakers to rethink the genre's limitations." I can't wait to watch! One of the best dog movie concepts in a while. Enjoy.

Official Trailer for Neil Marshall's Thriller 'Compulsion' Set on Malta

Compulsion Trailer

"Someone is playing games with us." Saban Films has revealed the trailer for a movie titled Compulsion, a dark erotic thriller from filmmaker Neil Marshall. Another of these annoying, boring, forgettable movies Marshall is making with "actress" Charlotte Kirk – there is a rumor this might be the last one of them. This premiered in 2024 at a small festival and it also played at the Mediterrane Film Festival on Malta this year. On the island of Malta, two women get engaged in a string of horrifying murders. A young woman's visit to her stepfather's villa spirals into danger when she's targeted by con artists and a violent murder forces her into a deadly cover-up. As a detective closes in, trust cracks and dark secrets are exposed. Starring Anna-Maria Sieklucka, Charlotte Kirk, and Zach McGowan. This looks like a giant tax write-off film, made on Malta because that's the sunniest place to get a tax deal for movies these days. Everything in this looks bad - the cinematography, performances, the whole cliche "erotic" killer story, all of it. Stay away from this.

Disney+ has debuted the official trailer for the next animated spin-off series LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy - Pieces of the Past, arriving for streaming starting in September. This is another wacky & wild sequel to the first Rebuilding the Galaxy spin-off mini-series from last year, involving a funky Star Wars alternate dimension where the good & bad guys have switched sides. Tim Blake Nelson is a Retired Boxer in 'Bang Bang' Film Official Trailer

Bang Bang Film Trailer

"Now that's how you hit your grandpa!" Vertigo Releasing has revealed an official trailer for the film titled Bang Bang, a gritty sports drama from filmmaker Vincent Grishaw. This originally premiered at the 2024 Tribeca and Locarno Film Festivals last year, and will be released in limited theaters starting in September. Tim Blake Nelson stars as "Bang Bang" Rozyski, an eccentric retired pugilist obsessed with rectifying the sins of his past. He finds a renewed sense of purpose when he reconnects with his estranged grandson and begins training him in the very sport that destroyed his life. As the bond between them grows, questions arise about Bang Bang's true motivations: is he simply passing down his anger, or is there real redemption in his mentoring? The cast includes Glenn Plummer, Andrew Liner, Kevin Corrigan, Nina Arianda, Erica Gimpel, and Daniella Pineda. This only looks good because it has Tim Blake Nelson starring in it, he's usually always good in anything, but the rest of it looks cliche and forgettable. They can't all be winners.

Watch: Kevin McGloughlin's Mesmerizing 'Repetition' Visuals Video

Repetition Music Video

"Yearning for the Infinite..." This extraordinarily mesmerizing music video is a must watch for anyone who loves cinematography or photography or visualizations. The 6-minute long music video is for an electronica track titled "Repetition" by artist / musician Max Cooper, with awe-inspiring visuals created by the Irish filmmaker Kevin McGloughlin. This video has been drifting around online for a few years already, but I just caught up with it recently and I must share it with everyone else anyway. It's an entrancing visualization of the world around us - taking various buildings, highways, natural features and more, turning them into endless, infinite landscapes that go on forever. This is the exact idea behind it. Cooper explains he wanted to convey: "our endless pursuit of growth * 'progress', our duplication of built form & expanding cities, looking to an unbounded future of urban sprawl... What worked [for this visualization] was something that for me seems more focused on the worth of our endless striving than its possible role in our downfall." View below.

New Trailer for 1985 Animated Classic 'Angel's Egg' 4K Restoration

Angel's Egg Trailer

"What might be inside that egg?" Whoa! GKids is preparing to give the 1980s cult classic anime Angel's Egg a proper theatrical release this movie in US movie theaters. From master filmmaker Mamoru Oshii, Angel's Egg is a Japanese animated experimental post-apocalyptic science fantasy OVA that first debuted direct-to-video in Japan in 1985. It has been restored in glorious, pristine 4K and will be re-released this fall. After playing in Cannes, the film is screening at Fantastic Fest, NYFF, and the Sitges Film Festival before is theatrical debut in November. A must see! In an underwater city, a young girl takes care of a large egg she holds carefully in her arms – a treasure that she believes is an angel’s egg. A boy with a gun arrives in search of a bird he saw in his dream. At first it seems as if feelings of sympathy are developing between the two. Then, one night, the boy crushes her precious egg... The New York Japan Society says the film is "an allegorical fantasy enriched by symbolism and biblical allusion." Featuring the voices of Mako Hyôdô & Jinpachi Nezu. There's not much dialogue – it's all about the stunning visuals and allegorical storytelling in this anime classic. This looks amazing! I've never seen it – now is the right time to finally watch it. Enjoy.
