Hello guys, a warm welcome to all. In this blog, I am going to narrate my NPTEL exam experience, and I will give some suggestions and tips to get good marks. I will share the difficulties I faced and how I overcame them. For better understanding, I have divided it into several parts:

  • Registration
  • Preparation Days
  • Exam Day
  • Result Day
  • Conclusion

1. Registration:

One fine day, my friends and I were sitting under a tree and chatting when we all received a message on our phones. It was a message in our students' WhatsApp group. The message contained information about enrolling in the NPTEL exam. In our college, we need to complete some NPTEL courses and earn 16 credits to be eligible to get the degree. I decided to enroll in the Entrepreneurship course because my friends said it was easy and we could get good marks in it.

2. Preparation Days:

Entrepreneurship is a 12-week course. Each week, we have assignment questions and some basic tips for preparation. However, for the entire 12 weeks, I did not study at all. I procrastinated and completed the assignment questions using ChatGPT. While doing this, I felt sad, and after the 10th week, I decided to prepare for the exam. But even then, I couldn't prepare due to some health issues, and those two weeks also passed without studying. The night before the exam, I still hadn't prepared and simply woke up and got ready to go to the exam hall.

3. Exam Day:

In the morning, I still couldn't prepare anything, not even the weekly quizzes. I just sat and enjoyed the nature; it was too cold because it was drizzling when we entered the exam hall, and the AC was on. When I entered the hall, a volunteer received me, checked my ID proofs, and guided me to my system because it was an online mode exam. Once the exam started, the timer began running in front of us. The total duration of the exam was 3 hours, but everyone else around me finished it in half an hour and slept. It was weird, and I was the last one to leave the exam hall. Afterwards, we checked our answers on the internet. From my calculations, I thought I scored 50 marks, but I didn't know if it would increase or decrease.

4. Result Day:

One fine day, in the students' group named Study Buddies, everyone was discussing the results and sharing the link to check them. Once I logged in and saw the results, I was stunned because I scored 80%. I still don't know how I got this much. Even after logging in again, it showed the same mark. I was very happy because I didn't expect such high marks; I had calculated only 50%. Then I realized I have a little bit of luck factor. So, my kind request to you guys is: don't depend only on luck because hard work is more important than luck.

5. Conclusion:

Participating in the NPTEL exam was a significant learning experience for me. It taught me the importance of consistent preparation and the pitfalls of procrastination. While I was fortunate to score well, relying on luck is not a sustainable strategy. Hard work, dedication, and regular study are crucial for success. My journey highlighted the importance of planning and time management. Completing assignments on time and preparing regularly can significantly reduce last-minute stress. Additionally, it’s essential to take care of your health and not let issues pile up until the last moment. In summary, while I was able to achieve a good score, I learned valuable lessons about the importance of hard work and preparation. I hope my experience and tips will help you in your own academic journey. Remember, consistent effort and perseverance are the keys to success. Thank you for reading, and best of luck in your studies!
