Difference between Multimedia and Hypermedia

It should be noted that in the world of the Internet, the terms multimedia and hypermedia are synonyms although they have different meanings. Although both of them include the use of one or the other or several media types, the role and facility I suppose are quite distinct. In this article, many of these distinctions will be explained to give you an optimal sense of when and how each one should be used.
What is Multimedia?
It is a type of information through electronic means, the Internet. It comprised graphics, text, videos, audio, animations, information on laptops, and other similar devices. The elements of multimedia show us quality pictures, animations, sounds, and text information which directly impacts the user's brain. Advantages of Multimedia

- Accessibility Issues: Sad to say, not all multimedia content is for everyone, especially those people with one form or another of disability.
What is Hypermedia?
It is an next version of hypertext which contains different forms of media like, graphics, text, audio, video and moving graphics etc. There is similarity in the structure of both hypermedia and hypertext. It has even more advanced features like clickable links in the web page. The common hypermedia link is image link which can take the user to the other page. It is used in a variety of applications from problem solving and qualitative research to electronic studying and sophisticated learning.
Advantages of Hypermedia
- Interactivity: Hypermedia enables more interactivity to take place since the user has an option to pick their path through the information being passed.
- User Control: It makes the user have an upper hand in determining what information to pull out and how to pull out the information.
Disadvantages of Hypermedia
- Complexity: In particular, designing hypermedia systems is a challenging process and the proper organization of processes is needed to provide users with comfortable interfaces.
- Overwhelm: One of the disadvantages associated with the use of hypermedia is that it is non-linear and may at times, confuse the users through providing too many options or by disorienting them.
