Hi everyone, I hope you're doing well!

I’d like to share my interview experience for the Project Engineer role at Wipro. My name is Ajith Kumar Reddy, and I recently completed my B. Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from Vel Tech, Chennai. I applied on-campus for this role through the Superset portal. The entire selection process, from the initial assessment to the final confirmation, took about 3 to 4 months. All the rounds in the Wipro selection process were elimination-based, meaning candidates had to clear each round to progress to the next stage.

Round 1 – Online Assessment (100-120 mins) :

The first round was an online assessment conducted on CoCubes platform. It was a 2-hour long exam that consisted of three sections. The first section tested aptitude with questions on logical reasoning, quantitative ability, and verbal English. The second section involved a written communication test, where I had to write an essay. The third section included a two coding questions where we could choose from programming languages like C, C++, Java, or Python.

Round 2 – Voice Assessment (60 mins) :

A couple of weeks after clearing the online test, I received an invite for the voice assessment round. It was a one-hour session that included multiple activities such as read and speak, listen and speak, short question-answer conversations, fill in the blanks, sentence correction, and a free speech task. This round primarily focused on assessing communication skills, pronunciation, fluency, and clarity in English. I found this round manageable as long as one is confident in spoken English.

Round 3 – Business Discussion (20-30 mins) :

About one month later after clearing the voice assessment, I received an interview invitation and it was conducted via the Superset platform. The final round was a combined business discussion that included both technical and HR questions. The panel was friendly, and the conversation flowed smoothly. It started with a quick introduction and then moved into technical discussions, where I was asked about my resume related questions like final year project, internships, and certifications. I was also asked some Python, SQL, Machine learning, and Data science-related questions. The HR part followed, where they asked about my education background, challenges faced during projects, strengths, weaknesses, and my interest in Wipro. Toward the end, I asked the interviewer about the day-to-day responsibilities and activities associated with the Project Engineer role, and he responded positively, explaining the expectations in the role.

Overall Experience & Tips: The entire process was smooth and well-structured, with all rounds being elimination-based. The final round was conducted by a single interviewer who focused mainly on the content of my resume. It’s very important to thoroughly revise everything you’ve mentioned in your resume, including projects, skills, and internships. Make sure your CS fundamentals are strong and practice coding questions, especially on arrays & strings and give equal importance to aptitude and communication skills, as they are critical in the early screening stages.
