The selection process for the J.P. Morgan Code for Good Hackathon typically involves several stages:
1. Resume Shortlisting.
2. Technical Assessment (Coding Round)
3. Virtual Interview.
- Firstly JP Morgan reached our college placement cell and shared information regarding this with students, Students were encouraged to apply for it. In the application, we need to enter our basic information about, experience, skills, and Resume.
After the application deadline, a panel of judges or reviewers from J.P. Morgan and possibly partner organizations will assess the applications. They will typically look for candidates with a diverse range of skills, experiences, and backgrounds. Based on it they shortlisted some of the students and a follow-up email was sent. They also conducted introductory sessions to apply and about this Code for Good Hackathon.
Tip: Build your Resume Today only if you still don't have any!
Upload your latest Resume and modify your Resume according to the company you are applying to.
- Secondly, we had a Technical assessment in the gotHacker Rank Platform. They are sending online test links to students in batch wise manner. 60-minutethe test with 2 coding questions. Students can give tests according to their time flexibility, but within 2 days time after email is received. Most questions will be different for each participant, but I even got to know that some questions were repeated one person asked many others who had already given the test and he got one question and other different questions, maybe his luck :)
I got questions related to String and Array, but I got story-like questions. Array question is like 2 persons were playing and based on some specified conditions Person A will win and Person B will lose and vice versa, we need to return the list of their winning and losing happened for a particular number of games played.
Tip: Practice the previous year's coding test questions and make fundamentals strong.
- Lastly after clearing the coding test, had a Virtual interview, where AI Software will ask you questions. There were two questions, the First question was displayed and given some minutes time(like 3 minutes) after, the recording would start and we should speak out our solution. Then, the second question was asked and in the same, way we should record audio with video and submit. we can discard our recording only once and restart the recording. For me, it asked questions like HR questions and descriptive about project building work and our thoughts and process, and for some others, they asked about interpersonal communication, self-reflection etc.
After clearing all these three processes, The selected participants will be invited to attend the hackathon event, where they will work on their projects over a designated period of time, typically ranging from a day to a few days. During this time, they will have access to mentors, workshops, and other support resources provided by J.P. Morgan.
Winning teams may receive prizes, such as cash awards, scholarships, internship opportunities, or other forms of recognition. All participants may also receive certificates or other tokens of appreciation for their participation.
Overall, the selection process aims to identify talented individuals or teams with the potential to develop innovative solutions and make a positive impact, while also providing them with opportunities for learning, networking, and recognition.
This was an amazing experience, and hope everyone will utilize such an opportunity to make remarkable changes in their career.
Thank you All
