Multiplying a number by itself gives you a square of that number.

Multiplying a number by itself twice gives the cube of that number.

Adding a number n times is the same as multiplying that number by n. E.g., 5 times 3 is the same as adding five 3 times. 5×3 = 15 and 5+5+5 = 15.

Tips to Remember Tables 1 to 20

Some students can find memorizing tables from 1 to 20 difficult. We have mentioned the tips to learn 1 to 20 easily.

  • The numbers in the multiplication table from 1 to 20 are all whole numbers.
  • The results in Table 1 are the number itself, i.e., 1×5 = 5
  • The results in Table 10 are the numbers with zero on the right side of the number, i.e., 10×5 = 50
  • The numbers in Tables 2, 4, 8, and 16 are all even numbers.
  • Try solving random multiplication problems to test table memorization.
