this book was Fine. emphasis on Just Fine. the writing style was decent and the characters were alright. but it was very similar to the hating game, which isn't my favorite book i've ever read. also it was just too short for me to fully care about the characters. but it was a quick holiday read with christmas spirit so i'll give it that.
omg this was so cute! i looooove friends to lovers. also the small town vibes were perfect. i really look forward to reading the other books in the series!
I enjoyed this sequel a lot! I was sad there weren't any romance book excerpts the way that book one had, but it was still cute. I was not a huge fan I enjoyed this sequel a lot! I was sad there weren't any romance book excerpts the way that book one had, but it was still cute. I was not a huge fan of the third act conflict - I thought Liv was being really dramatic over something that had a very obvious explanation. But Lyssa Kay Adams is really good at writing character development. Just when I start to get beyond irritated by the main characters, she has them figure out their issues. I really appreciated the discussion of sexual harassment throughout the book and that there was an interesting plot line alongside the romance.
This was so cute and fun! I went into it with no expectations and came out so pleasantly surprised. I've never read a marriage on the rocks story befoThis was so cute and fun! I went into it with no expectations and came out so pleasantly surprised. I've never read a marriage on the rocks story before but I really enjoyed the trope in this! I loved the regency novel excerpts in between the chapters and the cast of characters was so fun.
This was adorable! I love T. Kingfisher's writing style. She always has the perfect amount of humor in her writing. Also, the romance between Halla and Sarkus was ...more
This was cute! I didn't love the romance as much as I have in the last two books, but I did enjoy that it was sapphic. I wished the characters had a little more chemistry but I still enjoyed the book immensely. This series is like a warm hug.
I have no words. I loved this book so much. I cried so many times. There were definitely moments when I wish we could've spent more time on certain characters and there were storylines that felt unfinished, but I'm giving this 5 stars because of how it made me FEEL. This book did so much to me emotionally. I learned so much about history and I loved all the characters so much ...more
Omg... I hated this so much... I'm so sad. I loooved Jennifer Hartmann's other books but this one was not it. Parker was such a toxic love interest. I was shocked that Melody kept giving him chances. At no point did he deserve her love and attention. I know he had a traumatic back story, but ultimately that doesn't forgive bad behavior for me. The way this man barely had any character development ...more
It's been a few years since I read one of these books so I'm not sure how I feel about this book. I think I want to binge the whole series all at once to figure it out.
This was cute but lacked some depth for me. There was a lot of telling and not showing with plot points. I really liked the characters and the premise but it fell a little short for me. I just wanted more meat to the story. I didn't want to be told that things happened, I wanted to actually read about them happening. I probably won't think about this book ever again, which is sad. I would be open to reading more from this author in the future!
