Only two stories in so far (short stories are my solace when grading papers, so I grade a certain number then read a story, and so on). I might sell my soul to be able to write like this. Wow.

“So I try to use old words, inherited from generation
after generation, and try to make them say new things
as if there was never love before us
on this earth, as if every day we’re not drinking
and breathing the molecules of long-dead lovers
who thought they, too, had invented love,
who felt these same tensions and betrayals
and tried to use old words to describe these hopes
and glories of the flesh and mind, and failed
as I have, to say the thing anew.
— Shaindel Beers, closing lines to “I Give You Words,” The Brief History of Time (Salt Publishing, 2009)”

Hi Shaindel,You poem "Cicadas" is FANTASTIC! First of all, I loved the sound of the words...and because of your poem I was introduced to the wonderful sounding word: viburnum.
And when I read it again, I appreciated your take on the concept of time...
Thanks for sharing your writing!

Hello...talk to you soon.. http://www.billhazelgrove.comhttp://www.amazon.com/review/product/...
Thank you for making me a friend. I have the highest regard for teachers; as for writers I'm biased. Warmest wishes to you and keep me posted on all the lovely works that happen to cross your path.
I want to apologize for the all the recommendations from me today. I wanted to share the Stoker Award news, and I only pressed the send button once--I'm not sure what happened.Argh...this is terrible...
Again, I'm very sorry.

Hi Shaindel! Here’s wishing you a nifty New Year filled with noiseless noses, neato nicknames, noble Nebraskans, gnarly narcoleptic nebulas, and novel novels about nut-eating narwhals and novercaphobic gnats.
-Jeremy :)
P.S.—I’m currently offering autographed/personally-inscribed copies of my novel, Vacation, with free shipping for those in the US. If there’s anything you could do to help me spread the word about this, I’d really appreciate it. Feel free to click here for details:

Shaindel, we are all learning. I just realized I can use the source code here to write with bold and italic or
both
.
Hi, Daniel,I had just assumed people would cut and paste into an address bar. I guess I can always make them live links... Thanks for curing my laziness so that other people can have it ;-)
