“Thanksgiving en el Barrio” was a beautiful celebration of community and gratitude. In partnership with CECLEF, 1,000 turkeys and trimmings were shared with families across San Antonio, including our Sacred Heart and Villa Rodriguez affordable housing communities. "Los Angeles released new estimates of the region's unhoused population. The estimates show that after years of increases, the numbers in LA have gone down, despite the fact that homelessness is on the rise nationally." "The city of L.A. saw a 2.2% drop in homelessness; the county’s overall count dropped by 0.27%." "In 2023, more than 10,000 affordable housing units were either completed or under construction—the highest number ever in a single year in Los Angeles." "More people than ever before are moving from homelessness to permanent housing, but too many fall into homelessness in the first place. The inflow must be stopped."
