When twins Daphne and Josie arrived early, they faced different medical challenges. Daphne had an abnormal heart rhythm requiring specialized cardiology care, while Josie needed oxygen support for respiratory distress. Both were transferred to the Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Children’s Health, where expert teams helped Daphne manage her heart with a beta blocker and supported Josie with oxygen and tube feedings – putting them on the path to recovery. From dedicated care for the twins to Child Life’s craft activities for their older siblings, the team at Children’s Health supported the whole family. Since its launch in 2024, our Neonatal Outreach Program has been dedicated to enhancing NICU care across North Texas. By visiting hospitals and fostering collaboration, we’ve built a stronger support network, improved communication and shared our work at Pediatric Academic Societies Meeting, American Association of Physician Liaisons and Children's Hospitals Neonatal Consortium (CHNC). We’re so proud of our team for their commitment to improving care for newborns across DFW and beyond. 🎈
