🌄 While in Europe, North America, and most of Asia the days are getting shorter, 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮 is experiencing summer with 𝗻𝗲𝗮𝗿-𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁! This is the perfect time to collect Earth observation data before the polar night sets in and optical sensing becomes impossible for months. 🏔️ Our latest CDSE gallery feature highlights the 𝗗𝗿𝘆𝗴𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗸𝗶 𝗠𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝘂𝗱 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗱 (also called 'Dronning Maud Land') 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗶𝗱𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘀𝘂𝗻. Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem
Space Research and Technology
Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem (CDSE) is the official ecosystem to access and use the EU's Copernicus satellites data.
About us
The Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem (CDSE) is the next step in the evolution of Earth observation data. The ecosystem offers immediate access to large amounts of open and free Earth observation data from the Copernicus Sentinel satellites, including both new and historical Sentinel images, as well as Copernicus Contributing Missions. CDSE offers comprehensive browsing, interactive exploration, and in-depth processing capabilities to unlock the full potential of Earth observation data. CDSE aims to support users in building various applications needed to provide accurate, timely and objective information which are crucial to create a more sustainable future. As the primary source of Copernicus Sentinel data, CDSE integrates open APIs and standards such as STAC, OGC, and openEO. Designed for seamless integration and federation, CDSE allows users to design, prototype, and operate applications while maintaining control over data access, visualization, user identity, processing integration, and data privacy. Explore how CDSE combines publicly funded services with commercial offerings to support a wide range of use cases. 🙌🥁 We are proud to announce that the Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem has now reached 𝟱𝟬𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘀. 🎉 We believe this rapid growth is establishing #CDSE as a platform not only for data analysis but also for sharing data and knowledge. This critical mass means the standards and tools we use are becoming increasingly widespread – if you create something in CDSE, many others will be able to build on it. The #GIS and #EarthObservation domain is leading the way for the open data and open software ecosystem, advancing fair and open science. The foundation for all this is what we call the "invisible infrastructure": the network of trust, agreement, and shared purpose that enables the exchange of data and information. ♥️ We are glad you are part of this and hope to continue growing. 🚀🚀🚀 --- European Space Agency - ESA European Commission T-Systems International CloudFerro S.A. 🌊 Water quality monitoring with satellite data! Lake Tanganyika, one of the world's few ancient lakes, is vital for both people and planet. Holding around 16% of the world’s freshwater, it supports over 12 million people. Yet, this unique ecosystem faces growing pressure from human activity and climate change. 🛰️ Through projects like Capitan Taki, Earth observation data from #CDSE and #Terrascope are used to track key water quality indicators such as sediment levels and chlorophyll concentrations. These insights reveal how rivers, cities, and natural processes influence the lake’s fragile balance. 🔗 Discover how modern technology helps protect ancient ecosystems and empowers local communities to safeguard them for generations to come https://lnkd.in/eGiWsCcK #CopernicusDataSpaceEcosystem #Terrascope #EarthObservation #CapitanTaki #Sustainability #WaterQuality #Copernicus #LakeTanganyika #RemoteSensing European Space Agency - ESA European Commission T-Systems International CloudFerro S.A. 🎉 We have a mission! ESA has confirmed Acquisition of Signal from the Copernicus Sentinel-1D satellite from the Mission Control Room at ESA Operations, Engineering & Space Safety. Developed in cooperation with the European Commission, Sentinel-1D joins the Sentinel-1 constellation under the Copernicus programme. It will deliver high-resolution radar data to support emergency response, environmental monitoring, and climate science. This success reflects the strength of the ESA–European Commission partnership in delivering space missions and applications that serves the public good. A special thanks to Ramon Torres, our Sentinel-1D Project Manager at the European Space Agency - ESA. His leadership has carried all four Sentinel-1 satellites through to launch — while also helping shape the future of the next generation. Ramon, your dedication and the incredible work of your team have been essential in making this mission a reality. I also want to thank our colleagues at ESOC for their operational excellence, and the ESRIN teams for their tireless efforts in delivering high-quality Sentinel-1 data products day in and day out. You all play a key role in keeping Europe at the forefront of Earth observation. It’s moments like these — when a satellite successfully reaches orbit — that remind me how proud I am to be part of this journey. Thank you all. https://lnkd.in/dp8PSx84 Credits: ESA - S. Corvaja ESA - M. Pédoussaut
