Today, we published a paper, “AI and the Future of Learning,” outlining Google’s approach to building AI to help improve learning outcomes for everyone. Here are 5 takeaways: 1) AI has the potential to reduce barriers to education and unlock human potential. 2) This transformation hinges on paying attention to how people learn — the science of learning. 3) That’s why Google’s tools for learning are grounded in best-in-class learning science, and the AI models that power them are rooted in pedagogical principles. 4) Realizing the promise of AI in education demands collaborative efforts among technology companies, educators, policymakers, and learners. 5) To navigate challenges like academic integrity, we must equip educators and students with the AI literacy needed to use these tools most beneficially. We’ll be sharing more insights from our paper over the coming weeks. Read more → https://goo.gle/47YuXhc

Google is #2 on the Forbes list of the Best Employers for Veterans. Read more in this interview with Karen Dahut, CEO of Google Public Sector.
I’m honored to share that Google is ranked #2 on the America’s Best Employers for Veterans list from Forbes! This recognition reflects the work of so many teams across Google who are deeply committed to empowering veterans and military spouses. We know that veterans and military spouses already possess the discipline, high-stakes problem-solving abilities, and organizational skills that are essential for success in technology roles. Google helps veterans build on these skills via initiatives including Launchpad for Veterans, Grow with Google livestreams, and Google Career Certificates, helping them thrive in high-demand fields. At Google Public Sector, supporting the military community is deeply ingrained in our mission. I’m grateful to be part of an organization committed to honoring service with action. We've teamed up with Girl Scouts of the USA to launch the Be Internet Awesome Family Challenge. Made possible by Google.Org, this program helps girls and their families navigate the internet with kindness and confidence, fostering a healthy relationship with technology for the next generation of innovators. Girl Scouts who complete the activities can also earn the new “Be Internet Awesome” Fun patch. Learn more from Ruth Porat, President and Chief Investment Officer of Alphabet and Google.
As a very proud Girl Scout, I had the pleasure of announcing Google’s partnership with Girl Scouts of the USA on a program to help girls develop critical skills to use technology safely as a tool for learning and creativity – enabling them to unlock the newly created “Be Internet Awesome” Girl Scout “Fun patch”. It was special to be with the group of Girl Scouts – and a fun trip down memory lane from my time as a Girl Scout where I learned how to do everything from building a campfire to life lessons about responsibility and self-respect (yup, those really are my badges; special thanks to Nano-Banana for restoring the photo :) ) Learn more about these new resources for girls, parents, and troop leaders here: https://lnkd.in/euKnXsiA

Aleksandra’s journey to Google Kraków started years ago, when she was just a student. “As a part of a scholarship, I got an opportunity to visit the Google office in London, meet amazing women from different countries, and get great support from Google for organizing different events to popularize STEM in my local community,” she shares. “I joined Google Developer Groups Wrocław, and organized multiple tech-related events. I had a chance to visit the Google Wrocław office and work with amazing Wroglers (Googlers from Wrocław).” Now, Aleksandra is a Software Engineer on the RCS (Rich Communication Services) for Business team, which is working to replace traditional SMS with a richer communication protocol. “My team works to provide our users with a pleasant, robust and safe experience when communicating with their favorite businesses,” she explains. “I take care of the Android app (Google Messages) part of the process. I develop various features for the app, but also create design documents, write tests, answer partner questions and sometimes fight the bugs.” She finds efficient communication to be one of the most crucial parts of her job: “Our team is based half in Kraków and half in San Jose, California. We also operate closely with the teams from Zurich and Hyderabad. This requires you to communicate with many people across many time zones, and to do it efficiently,” she says. Aleksandra credits her career path to taking a chance on community involvement. “I would definitely be in a different place right now if I didn’t dare to apply for that scholarship or to join Google Developers Group,” she says.
