To market and promote Hong Kong as a travel destination worldwide and to enhance visitors' experience once they arrive.

About us

The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) is a government-subvented body tasked to market and promote Hong Kong as a travel destination worldwide and to enhance visitors' experience once they arrive. The HKTB is headquartered in Hong Kong. Currently it has a worldwide network of 15 offices and has representatives in six different markets. The six objectives of the HKTB, as defined under the HKTB Ordinance, are to: 1) Endeavour to increase the contribution of tourism to Hong Kong; 2) Promote Hong Kong globally as a leading international city in Asia and a world-class tourist destination; 3) Promote the improvement of facilities for visitors; 4) Support the Government in promoting to the community the importance of tourism; 5) Support, as appropriate, the activities of persons providing services for visitors to Hong Kong; and 6) Make recommendations to and advise the Chief Executive (of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region) in relation to any measures which may be taken to further any of the foregoing matters. In 2008 the HKTB established Meetings & Exhibitions Hong Kong (MEHK) to continue strengthening Hong Kong’s position as the premier destination for Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE) in Asia Pacific. For MICE organisers, that means providing a host of service designed to make organising spectacular meetings or incentive travel programmes, a convention or an exhibition even simpler, smoother and more satisfying.

  • The year 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. We are pleased to announce the launch of the Red Study Tour Route, jointly promoted by the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) and the Culture, Media, Television, Tourism and Sports Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality. The initiative focuses on the historical event “Chinese Cultural Celebrity Rescue”. HKTB Chairman, Dr Peter Lam, stated: “HKTB has consistently implemented the concept of ‘Tourism is Everywhere’, leveraging the city’s diverse tourism resources to drive the development of thematic tourism itineraries in partnership with travel trade partners.” This initiative is strongly supported by the guidance of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau (CSTB) of the Hong Kong SAR Government and the active participation of China Tourism Group in launching distinctive red tourism products. 100 students from Hong Kong and Shenzhen participated in the one-day study tour. They visited the Hong Kong Museum of the War of Resistance and Coastal Defence and the Memorial Monument for Sai Kung Martyrs during World War II in Tsam Chuk Wan. The tour group then visited the Chinese Cultural Celebrity Rescue Memorial Hall in Shenzhen, broadening their knowledge of Hong Kong’s history in the War through study tour experience. HKTB continues its efforts in promoting study tour tourism, having already categorised landmarks and attractions across the city into nine thematic study focuses, including red tourism, to help the trade plan itineraries and curate tourism products. #DiscoverHongKong
