Central utility plants are the “behind the scenes” engines of every campus, hospital, and facility — generating and distributing the energy that keeps things going. At Loring, our Central Utilities team optimizes performance across chiller plants, boiler / heating systems, storage systems, and renewable energy sources to deliver sustainable, resilient solutions. Read how we helped Northern Westchester Hospital expand its 4,000-ton central chiller plant with minimal downtime while achieving maximum efficiency. Engaging with future engineers and introducing the next generation to our industry is centered through our internship and mentorship initiatives. Our summer internship program continues to be one of the highlights of our efforts. This summer we welcomed students through NYC School Construction Authority’s SIP program hosting HS students to gain exposure to future career paths. We also have some of our college summer interns participating in a collaborative internship experience with Turner Construction Company through their “Intern Discovery Program”. Over several weeks they participate in various trainings and presentations alongside interns from other companies. It’s been a great summer for learning and engagement thus far. Today on National Intern Day we celebrate our interns and thank them for their efforts.
