MedVet Phoenix had a great time connecting with the community at The Day Of The Dog Scottsdale festival! This annual event in Old Town Scottsdale brings together thousands of pet lovers for races, fashion shows, pool parties, dog-friendly activities, and more—all in support of local animal rescues. Dr. Halterman and caregivers Manny and Becky from our Phoenix team hosted the MedVet booth, sharing information about our emergency and specialty services, handing out MedVet goodies, and helping attendees create custom paw prints with their dogs. They even put their emergency expertise to work by assisting a pup who overdid the fun — thankfully, he’s doing great now. We loved meeting everyone and look forward to seeing you at future community events!

Congratulations to Dr. Dani Williams, Board-certified Specialist in Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care at MedVet Dallas, for authoring a recent study published by Wiley titled "Mycoplasma cynos-Associated Canine Infectious Respiratory Disease Complex Pneumonia in 13 Dogs." This study dives into diagnostic results, treatments, and outcomes in 13 dogs with suspected canine infectious respiratory disease complex (CIRDC)-associated pneumonia and Mycoplasma cynos–positive polymerase chain reaction (PCR). As part of MedVet's mission of Leading Specialty Healthcare for Pets, we are thankful for leaders, like Dr. Williams, who contribute to advancements in veterinary medicine. We’re proud to recognize Dr. Emily Medici and Stacey Aubin from MedVet Houston Bay Area and David Robinson, Director of Imaging, Operations, as recipients of the 2025 Eric Schertel Outstanding Leader Award! This award celebrates senior leaders who drive exceptional results across MedVet’s three strategic pillars: Caregiver Experience, MedVet Experience, and Healthy Growth. Emily and Stacy are a dynamic duo whose creativity, dedication, and collaborative leadership inspire their team and drive remarkable results. Together, they’ve expanded hospital services with doctor-led in-house Cardiology and Internal Medicine labs for referral partners, strengthened relationships, and grown revenue while managing expenses. David Robinson has expanded MedVet’s clinical imaging capabilities, scaled MRI and advanced imaging protocols, and successfully overseen the relocation and implementation of imaging systems, including a new CT scanner at Hilliard to enhance care for exotic patients. Dr. Whitehead is a Board-Certified Small Animal Internal Medicine Specialist with more than 20 years of experience in veterinary medicine. Prior to joining MedVet, he spent over 13 years with BluePearl Pet Hospital in roles including Veterinary Internist, Internship Program Director, and Medical Director. Outside of the hospital, Dr. Whitehead enjoys time with his family and their pets, traveling, cooking, home beer brewing, and sharing his love of Lego with his kids.
