  • 🧠 Students in Integrated Math at Papillion La Vista High School presented their own research to local businesses. Students formed objectives for their projects and circulated surveys among their peers to gather data related to a specific purpose. They presented their data and analysis directly to the Stormchasers, Pinnacle Bank, Chick-Fil-A, and American National Bank, and answered questions regarding their surveys and takeaways. This annual collaboration provides insight about student sentiment for local PLCS community partners, and gives students the opportunity to conduct their research related to real-life scenarios. Thank you to PLC Schools Cooperation BEST for the support in connecting students to real-life learning opportunities with local businesses!

  • On this Veterans Day, we honor Eileen Kolbo and ALL veterans in our PLCS family! Eileen, an Army veteran with 10 years of service, now serves as a Paraprofessional at PLSHS. Her message to fellow veterans considering education careers: "Military skills will most certainly translate. Reliability, loyalty, communication, punctuality & competency – these definitely transfer into an education career." "We try to teach students not only academic lessons, but life lessons they can use no matter what career fields they pursue. Caring about students & encouraging them is critical." Today we celebrate every veteran in our district who continues their service through education. Thank you for your dedication to our country and our students! For their annual donation drive in the month of October, the Portal STAR Council had the goal to raise 1,900 pairs of socks - and blew past that number by raising 2,539 pairs!
