🍪❤️ The Warm-A-Heart Gingerbread Program is more than cookies—it’s a kindness movement wrapping Rhode Island in warmth each holiday season and this year, members of our gas team were thrilled to be a part of it. Ellie's in Providence bakes thousands of gingerbread cookies during the holiday season and volunteers put together kits that are sold for $10 each at organizations and stores across the state. 100% of the net profits are donated to select nonprofit organizations to purchase warm winter clothing, blankets, pillows, and gift cards for Rhode Island families in need. We believe in strengthening communities through creativity and connection. We recently donated one of our hand-painted Little Libraries to the City of Woonsocket Dog Park, where it was celebrated by Councilwoman Kristina Contreras Fox, Mayor Christopher Beauchamp, and the famous KimchiPebbles! This project reflects the power of collaboration — from our team’s artistry to the support of local leaders and storytellers — all working together to make reading accessible and fun in unexpected places. We’re proud to support spaces where neighbors (and their furry friends!) can gather, share stories, and build lasting connections 📚🐾

🚚 A surprise to remember! When our crews heard about a student at the Frank Olean Center in Westerly who loves drawing our bucket trucks and power lines, they brought the trucks to him! He lit up seeing them in person and proudly shared his artwork with the team. Thanks to our crews for making Colton's day! 💙

One year ago, our Forestry Manager noticed something missing behind the WWII monument at Veterans Park in North Smithfield. It was a lonely stump where a tree once stood. Every time he passed that red light at the corner of 102 and 146A, it felt like a quiet reminder that something more could be done. So he did! With help from Stanley Tree Service Inc. - Proud to be 100% Employee Owned, we planted a new tree to restore the space and honor those who served. Today, that tree stands as a living tribute to our Veterans.

This Veterans Day, we honor team members like Cely De Barros — a dedicated Supervisor in Gas Field Operations and a proud member of the U.S. Army, currently deployed in service to our country. Cely’s commitment to excellence shines through both in uniform and on the job, where her mission remains the same: delivering safe, efficient, and reliable systems that keep communities moving forward. To all veterans across the nation, thank you for your service, leadership, and unwavering dedication!

In response to the federal shutdown, the Rhode Island Energy Foundation has donated $50,000 to the Rhode Island Community Food Bank to support families facing increased hardship. Our cafeteria was transformed into a vibrant hub of color, flavor, and joy as the Asian Connection for Employees (ACE) Business Resource Group hosted a Diwali celebration last month. Highlights included: 🌟 A warm welcome and storytelling about Diwali’s significance 🍛 A delicious spread of authentic Indian dishes 💃 Bollywood dance fun 🎨 Henna and sand art. ACE is proud to celebrate the diversity that powers our company and our communities!
