The Zephyr Project is an open source RTOS built for resource constrained devices.
About us
The Zephyr Project is an open source collaborative effort uniting leaders from across the industry to build a best-in-breed small, scalable, real-time operating system (RTOS) optimized for resource constrained devices, across multiple architectures. Hosted by The Linux Foundation, the Zephyr Project’s goal is to establish a neutral project where silicon vendors, OEMs, ODMs, ISVs, and OSVs can contribute technology to reduce the cost and accelerate time to market for developing the billions of devices that will make up the majority of the Internet of Things.

From day one Linaro has helped shape The Zephyr Project - the opensource #RTOS for resource-constrained devices. Check out this talk from #LinaroConnect 2025 to learn why Zephyr is a good choice when using #Rust for #embedded development 👉 https://lnkd.in/e9ChjbiK #LIS25 #TBT

At #OSSummit + #ZDS2025 Europe, Andreas Kurz (inovex GmbH) and Stefan Kraus present: CoffeeCaller - a Fully Open Source Product Development Example CoffeeCaller is an embedded device designed to coordinate coffee breaks across a building. What started as a fun idea became an exploration of product development within hobby time and budget. They share the journey from proof of concept to parallel hardware/software development using KiCad and #ZephyrRTOS, modular device tree design, and transitioning from BLE Mesh to openthread. At #OSSummit + #ZDS2025 Europe, Jaco Liebenberg from Plentify presents a lightning talk: A Reusable Zbus Based Architecture, Abstracting Core Application Components Porting products to Zephyr and a common microprocessor enabled a move toward more reusable code. This talk presents an architectural approach using zbus to create standardized inter-thread communication and a reusable link layer for communication, UI, and system control. The architecture is analogous to micro-services composed of ~5 independent services/modules per application, each interfacing through zbus to maintain modularity and separation of concerns. We have several Mind delegates attending and speaking at Linux Foundation - #OSSEU2025 in Amsterdam. Titouan Christophe will be speaking at the event about MIDI2 in the real world with #Zephyr (The Zephyr Project). Thomas Perale will be attending as part of our #buildroot efforts due to Mind's maintainership role for the #LTS branch. Charles-Antoine Couret will be attending as well as one of our senior experts. Feel free to send us a DM to get introduced if you have questions about Buildroot, Zephyr, #yocto or other FOSS projects which we deal with on a daily basis. https://lnkd.in/eJmS26T4

The Zephyr Project's Kate Stewart joined Golioth's Chris Gammel to discuss all things related to the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA)... Key dates that should be on your calendar: 📆 June 2026: Government procedures in place 📆 September 2026: Reporting obligations kick in 📆 December 2027: Full regulation in effect Things that will impact your day job: ✔️ 24-hour vulnerability reporting (yes, really) ✔️ Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) required ✔️ 5+ year support periods for security updates "✔️ Secure by design" isn't a nice-to-have anymore Watch the conversation and learn how #ZephyrRTOS can make your life easier → https://hubs.la/Q03BT5gw0 #CyberResilienceAct #CRA #EmbeddedSystems #IoT #Security #Compliance #EUSecurity
