Reed High School’s Culinary Program and Global Street Foods food truck hit the road this week to serve a full holiday meal to the Eddy House, and they didn’t do it alone. In partnership with Intuit, culinary students from Reed HS joined classmates from AACT, Incline HS, McQueen HS, Sparks HS, and Debbie Smith CTE Academy to prepare every part of the meal, from turkey and rolls to pies and sides. With the food truck parked on-site at Eddy House, Reed students helped serve the dishes they created, while their peers across WCSD contributed through meal prep and planning. This collaboration gave students a chance to practice real-world culinary skills while supporting an organization that provides safety and stability for homeless and at-risk youth in our community. We’re so proud of Reed HS and all participating culinary programs for showcasing the best of Career & Technical Education, teamwork, skill-building, and service!💙🍽️

✨ You may see some familiar faces on TV tomorrow… The Incline High School Cheer Team is set perform in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade tomorrow, and we caught up with them during their final practice before takeoff! 💚🏔️💛 From first-time flyers to seasoned leaders, the Highlanders have been working hard on a fast, technical routine — and their excitement is off the charts: 📣 “It’s really exciting. None of us have ever performed on a stage this big!” 📣 “We usually cheer at games… this is a way bigger scale.” 📣 “You can’t mess up — it’s gotta be perfect.” Coach Coombes says the team — made up mostly of beginners — has risen to the challenge and become a true family along the way. ❤️ Incline Cheer will join Spirit of America Cheer, representing their school and their community on a national stage. Take a first look at the future of Virginia Palmer Elementary School! 🏫✨ As part of WCSD’s Facility Modernization Plan, Virginia Palmer is set to receive exciting upgrades — including a new collaborative hub space, multi-purpose room, media center, STEAM Lab, and shaded outdoor area. This project, designed by Plenium Builders and Architects Plus, is currently in its final design phase. Pine Middle School educators toured the brand-new Vaughn Middle School, where they’ll begin teaching next school year. From exploring classrooms to checking out collaborative learning spaces, staff got a first look at the campus that will soon welcome their students. As part of WCSD’s Facilities Modernization Plan, Pine Middle School will close at the end of the 2025–26 school year — and the newly rebuilt Vaughn Middle School will become home to Pine’s students and staff.
