Learning objectives

- Welcome to lesson number nine, Develop an Instrumentation Strategy. In this lesson, you learn about the different services and tools that you can implement to configure monitoring and alerting. We start with an overview of Azure Monitor where you learn about the most important services within it to monitor your infrastructure. You then gain some hands-on experience in the lab about Azure Monitor. You then learn about logging and metrics within Azure Monitor where you learn about the different data sources for each as well as other important concepts. You then review logging an Azure Monitor in a hands-on lab to gain experience, followed by another lab dedicated to metrics in Azure Monitor. You then learn about application insights to understand the different platforms and tools that you can use to monitor your applications, followed by a lab where you review application insights to learn more about this powerful tool. Next, you learn how to monitor virtual machines in Azure with the use of several tools, followed by a lab in which you apply the concepts learned in order to monitor your virtual machines. In the next lesson, you learn about alerting such as how the alerts are configured, triggered and the actions that can be taken, followed by a hands-on lab where you learn how to set up different alerts. And we close out this lesson with an overview of Visual Studio App Center which is a powerful tool to build, test and distribute mobile applications, followed by a lab where you review the Visual Studio App Center tool.
