Rothindra Nath Goswami’s Post

The Energy Superhero After the announcement of the Sahitya Akademi Bal Sahitya Award (2023), I was asked how the golden jubilee of the discovery of India’s largest oilfield, Mumbai High, should be celebrated. Having written The Story of Oil (1993) in Assamese, I know how challenging it is to explain oil exploration and production to children. Any celebration must also be one in which the whole nation can participate. I felt that Amar Chitra Katha would be an ideal medium to present this remarkable history. When the recent issue of Tinkle, titled The Energy Superhero, reached me, it strengthened my belief that such dreams can indeed take shape. I appreciate ONGC for bringing out this excellent graphic novel, which can help young readers understand the complex processes of the oil industry. If this story is translated into all Indian languages, it will undoubtedly benefit children across the country. #ONGC: The Energy Superhero
