I’m honoured to be taking part in the General Assembly of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission UNESCO Ocean. As an early career researcher still finding her feet in the ocean sciences, I’m grateful for the guidance of my brilliant National Oceanography Centre colleagues John Siddorn, Alan Evans and Sourav Sahoo. So far, I’ve been inspired by the collaborative atmosphere, collective experience, and hard work taking place at the IOC Assembly, enabling international cooperation in marine sciences.
