We were honoured to have Senior Minister of State Kiat How Tan, Ministry of Digital Development and Information, officiate the launch of the Global Impact AI Lab (IAL) — a collaboration between Univers, AMD, Microsoft, and National University of Singapore, NUS Centre for Future-ready Graduates. The IAL represents more than a collaboration; it’s a commitment to turning AI potential into real-world outcomes for enterprises and industries. By bringing together technology, governance, and academic expertise, it will accelerate innovation and impact across energy, infrastructure, transportation, and manufacturing sectors. Part 1: The Tech Side ⚙️ This morning, I tried to use my pressing iron, but the regulator was bad, like really bad. No matter how I turned the knob, it refused to adjust it was either too hot or too cold. And then it hit me… That’s exactly what happens when a system loses control logic. In technology, we call that a failed regulator, a broken feedback loop. Without control systems, machines overheat, underperform, or crash. And it’s not just machine, even innovations fail when balance is missing. AI without ethics. Automation without empathy. Technology without boundaries. Every great system, just like every great leader, needs regulation. Because brilliance without control can still cause damage.
