Vyommedha SoC Progress Update Today, we reached an important milestone in our journey with the Vyommedha SoC. On the DE0-Nano FPGA, we successfully deployed and tested a basic SoC built with LiteX and a VexRiscv softcore. The validation was done through firmware execution, where we programmed a Knight Rider LED pattern to verify correct integration of the CPU, bus, CSR peripherals, and firmware toolchain. 🔹 What we achieved: Defined and mapped SoC peripherals (LEDs, switches, UART, etc.) Integrated the firmware into the SoC build flow Verified end-to-end operation using UART + LiteX tools Ran the first functional firmware test on real hardware This hands-on validation confirms that our build system, toolchain, and FPGA integration flow are working end-to-end. ✨ What’s next: Tomorrow, we will launch the Vyommedha SoC Competition 🎉 The competition will be a community-driven initiative to learn FPGA deployment, firmware bring-up, and SoC development together. This is not just about building hardware, but about building a community that learns and grows together in the open-source hardware ecosystem.

Validating with a Knight Rider LED pattern...that’s such a fun and practical way to test integration. Makes me wonder how often we overlook simple, creative approaches like this in problem-solving. ----- Commented by commentify.co
