RDMA Networking Role in Data Center Compute: Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA) is a critical component in performance of data center workloads. One of the key reasons for OCI’s recent success is the extreme technical competence of our data center teams which have a deep understanding of networking from first principles. Two of my colleagues recently published a blog on RDMA performance in OCI superclusters (Leo LI and Rik Kisnah) and I think the article does a great job explaining RDMA, what “lossless RDMA” is, and why lossless RDMA is critical for maximum performance. As an example, when operating at zettascale (100k GPUs) as: “A 0.1% loss rate reduces GPU Utilization 10%.” “A 1% loss rate reduces GPU utilization 90%.” This makes lossy RDMA a liability, not andvantage. However, scaling lossless RDMA to clusters of this size comes with extreme challenges, which are covered in the article. Excited to share a major milestone: our joint solution with Supermicro and Cornelis Networks is now live—a purpose-built platform to accelerate HPC workloads while reducing cost and power. Combining Supermicro’s FlexTwin™, a high-density liquid-cooled 2U server chassis optimized for next-gen CPUs and memory, with Cornelis CN5000 Omni-Path 400G networking, we’ve delivered: · Up to 1.5× higher application performance versus competing 400G fabrics. · Up to 2.3× higher performance per network watt when leveraging liquid cooling. · A performance-per-dollar advantage (≈ 1.29×) in networking costs, helping reduce TCO across large-scale HPC deployments. Cooling and density designed for the toughest workloads — the FlexTwin captures up to 95% of system heat through cold plate technology, enabling ultra-dense racks and supporting thousands of cores. This solution is perfect for demanding domains like computational fluid dynamics (CFD), multiphysics simulation, climate modeling, national-security compute, and large-scale analytics. #HPC #AI #Supercomputing #LiquidCooling #HighPerformanceComputing #CornelisNetworks #Supermicro #Interconnect #Networking #GPU #AIinfrastructure #CN5000 #FlexTwin https://lnkd.in/euui4yKR

Users complain about slow page loads, API response delays, and soaring bandwidth costs, yet few realize the bottleneck might lie in gzip—a compression algorithm that has faithfully served for decades. While it was once sufficient, gzip now struggles to keep pace with today's dynamic content and high-concurrency demands. That's why we've integrated the modern compression algorithm zstd into OpenResty Edge. By leveraging lower CPU overhead, we achieve higher compression ratios and faster transmission speeds. Curious about how to embrace next-generation compression technology in OpenResty Edge? This article has the answers you're looking for: https://lnkd.in/gS8zrGKj

The Data center GPU market is on track to grow from $21.6B in 2025 to $265.5B by 2035. (source: Data Center GPU Market Size and Share Forecast Outlook 2025 to 2035) Exploding demand for GPUs means some AI teams wait weeks (or months) for access to enterprise-grade infrastructure. This creates a variety of pipeline-to-production issues: - Shared resources (versus dedicated hardware) slow down experiments and delay model deployments. - Without guaranteed compute, R&D pipelines stall. They can skip the wait when they partner with Voltage Park: ✔️ We've expanded our fleet of H100s to now include Blackwell clusters - no waiting in line. ✔️ No hyperscaler lock-in: scale up or down instantly based on your needs. ✔️ Bare-metal access for maximum performance, not throttled VMs. Our website: https://bit.ly/4lnrQTp

Generative #AI is revolutionizing the way we think about compute power—and with it, data center cooling strategies. The latest GPU-accelerated servers consume up to 20x the power of standard CPU servers, generating immense heat loads that can only be managed with liquid cooling. But while liquid cooling is essential, it’s not without its challenges. Check out this blog by Steven Carlini for a deeper dive: http://spr.ly/6040A7zuO
