Hi, I'm Maggie. I live in Brooklyn, NY, and this is a day in the life of a fully remote senior e-mail marketing manager at Buffer. I get super overwhelmed by sitting down to a bunch of unread notifications, so I like to check Slack before I get out of bed in the morning. Since Buffer is a globally distributed company, I know I already have lots to catch up on from my marketing team colleagues in Europe, Africa, and Australia, so I bookmark some conversations to come back to you later so I don't get too flustered when I sit down for work. Next, I take my dog Ziggy to the park. Look at that tail. Can you even handle it? My local park allows off leash hours before 9:00 AM and this is usually our most social part of the day. I got up a little earlier than usual today because I have a morning interview with a Senior Growth Marketing Manager candidate and since we're here early, we run into my partner on his morning commute, which as you can see is very exciting. After the park, I put some water on for a matcha while I make my bed and Ziggy helps. I'm new to the module life so if it looks like I did something wrong, don't bother commenting about it. I don't care, it still tastes good. Now I've got some caffeine, I sit down and get started on my day. I mentioned I have an interview this morning so I'm reading up on the candidate and making some. That's about things I wanna ask. No footage of the interview, obviously. Then I get around to responding to all the Slack messages I sneezed three hours ago and check in on some e-mail experiment results. Today I have a donut call with Kelly from the customer advocacy team which I take on a walk to go cowork out a friend's apartment. Kelly is a fellow Bravo historian so we had a lot to catch up on. And wow, I am really bad at filming while walking. I am so soothed by the cleanliness and aesthetic of my friend John's apartment that I'm able to jump right into work. Eventually he makes us lunch while I keep working, which is such a treat. When I heard the immersion blender going, I knew it was going to be good. We even had some Lacroix so it really felt like a tech hub. Real think tank, by the way. I know you're thinking and I'm sorry to tell you he's married. After a few hours at John's, I head back to my apartment to let CE out. I don't want to waste 30 minutes of the work day walking, so I hop on a city bike. And yes, thank you so much for asking. I am wearing a helmet. The scar is from a bike accident, so I'm a big helmet girl. Plus I look really cool. Once I'm home, I let Ziggy back out and lock in for another few hours. Since it's Q3, I'm thinking a lot about life cycle marketing priorities for the second-half of the year. Brainstorming and opportunity sizing. Some experiment ideas and oops, staying hydrated. Reading up on how to transition our post notifications from the back end into our ASP Classic stuff. It's almost 5:00, so Ziggy starts pawing at the back of my chair for attention and probably dinner. 20 minutes later I'm out the door for yoga, and afterwards I meet Brendan and Ziggy in the park for an evening walk before we head home for dinner. And that's Tuesday, thanks for hanging with me.
Love it Maggie! As a fellow Mason-jar-as-cup user, I fully approve this message. Also, that part about your friend NOT being a signal really got me, haha!
I can relate to reading notifications from bed 😬 Also, ZIGGY is back 🥰 These are really great behind the scenes videos. Shows the power of work-life balance.

I really admire how much time you spend outside in nature, especially at the park. Honestly, I can get quite lazy about leaving my house. It can be exhausting sometimes, so I tend to stay indoors all day. Maybe it's just because I'm not used to being outside yet.
