Cambrian Works, Inc.’s Post

Introducing Benjamin Lua, our Engineering Intern this summer! Ben took on responsibility in multiple projects, aiding in both GigRouter production and eTAP development. From assisting the integration team with functional, vibration, radiation, and thermal cycle testing on customer GigRouter units set for space, to managing the research and development timeline for the eTAP testing, Ben played a vital part in meeting many milestones during his time here! Ben shares, “I didn’t expect for my ideas and opinions to be taken so seriously as an intern, but everyone has been very open to my recommendations and feedback. I wasn’t expecting to work on such a variety of tasks, which consistently made me feel like a valued part of the team. From assisting with functional, vibration, radiation, and thermal cycle testing for the network products to becoming an eTAP lead and even running a standup meeting, this internship has been even more rewarding and challenging than I could’ve ever dreamed of.” Aspiring to have a meaningful contribution to products seeing space, while also developing his skills as an engineer, Ben noted that the projects he worked on during his time with Cambrian Works were not only unique, but unveiled new perspectives and approaches to aerospace engineering. “Cambrian Works has a strong commitment to revolutionizing inter-satellite communication and electroadhesion pads in space…. [I learned] that Project Data Management (PDM) is extremely important for team coordination and efficiency. Any file without proper storage is meaningless. A heavy workload is a sign of trust, responsibility, and being wanted. It also means that the company is thriving to its full potential.” Ben also noted learning new things about himself as an engineer: “My attention to detail is actually quite strong. I had never been complimented on my attention to detail until this internship, but I’ve always understood how important it is in engineering to prevent mistakes from happening.” Congratulations on such a successful internship this summer, Ben! From the entire Cambrian Works team, we wish you good luck in the new school year! #CambrianWorks #SpaceIndustry #SpaceTechnology
