For the first 4 years of our existence, GPSNR was hosted under WBCSD's Tire Industry Project (TIP), bringing together tire makers, rubber producers, and NGOs to make natural rubber more sustainable. Today, we’re proud to spotlight a new free resource from our member, WBCSD – World Business Council for Sustainable Development — continuing the journey we started together. 🌿 📘 Their latest publication, “Guidebook for Landscape Investments: Private sector-led solutions for land restoration and resilient agrifood systems,” showcases 12 real-world case studies where businesses are driving regenerative land use through collaboration, innovative finance, and farmer-centred solutions. The guide underscores that meaningful progress in land restoration happens when farmers, companies, investors, and civil society work together toward shared goals. It also highlights that while measurement and reporting remain key challenges, transparent monitoring is essential for building trust and scaling impact. Finally, innovative finance models — from blended capital to outcome-based funding — are emerging as powerful enablers for large-scale, long-term landscape regeneration. 📥 Access the guidebook here: https://lnkd.in/eftAXVNi #MemberSpotlight #GPSNR #Regeneration #WBCSD #LandRestoration #CollectiveAction #SustainableFinance

Last week, Yaryna Shura and I had the pleasure of leading a Breakfast Strategy Lab for WBCSD – World Business Council for Sustainable Development members and partners at the Trellis Group #TrellisImpact event in San Jose. Together, we explored how cross-sector partnerships around innovative technologies can accelerate decarbonization across value chains. Key themes from the session included: — Pilots and early experiments help turn ideas into real solutions, and we need ways to reward those taking the risks. — Strong accounting and real-world testing make sure emissions reductions are measurable and credible. — Focusing on Agriculture & Food and the Built Environment shows how tangible, practical solutions can work on the ground. — Smart policies and financial tools are key to scaling sustainable solutions. It is such a pleasure to work directly with our members on practical approaches that lead to measurable, scalable emissions reductions for their companies. Water scarcity, raw material shortages and crop failures are already disrupting operations and exposing business to systemic risk. Yet too many companies hesitate to act. To help change that, Greenhouse has supported the Science Based Targets Network (SBTN) to launch Step Up for Nature - a global initiative helping companies take credible, science-based action for nature. Through Step Up for Nature, businesses are able to: - Define their next measurable step toward science-based targets for land, freshwater and/or the ocean - Commit to a clear timeline for independent validation through the Accountability Accelerator - Start with focused, flexible accelerated pathways and scale over time This initiative gives companies a practical framework to act on nature loss using science-based methods that reduce risk and drive innovation. Step Up for Nature is a call for every business to see nature not as a backdrop, but as a partner in long-term success. 👉 Learn more: https://lnkd.in/ei2tRjMb

#Climate action and economic growth don’t have to compete. In fact, merging them is #Nigeria’s greatest opportunity. 🌱💡 The #goal is powerful: weave climate-smart strategies into the very fabric of our national development. Here’s how we can build that future, together: 1. Embed a 'Climate Lens' in Planning: Let’s integrate a simple checklist into national project approvals. This ensures new infrastructure and agricultural programs are resilient and efficient from day one. 2. Create Win-Win Budgeting: Directing investment towards climate-smart agriculture and #renewable #energy isn't just green—it’s a strategic move for job creation, energy access, and long-term cost savings. 3. Develop Unified Metrics: We can champion new ways to track progress that show how a healthy #environment and a thriving #economy reinforce each other. The future is built by those who connect the dots. Let’s connect ours. #GreenGrowth #NigeriaRising #ClimateAction #EconomicDevelopment #SustainableNigeria

BNS projects highlighted in the TNFD opportunities publication revealing nature as an attractive business opportunity 💡 The Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) publication shows examples of how nature-related opportunities are being financed, implemented and scaled across sectors worldwide. This report demonstrates that activities creating positive outcomes for both organisations and nature can deliver real risk management, resilience and financial value. Two Bankable Nature Solutions examples with Wereld Natuur Fonds (WWF-NL)’s engagement are Vinasamex and Slow Coffee: Vinasamex is a Vietnamese cinnamon cooperative supported by the Dutch Fund for Climate and Development. Vinasamex strengthens local livelihoods and forest ecosystems combining sustainable farming, fair trade and access to green finance, targeting to generate 20-fold increase in farming household incomes over 10 years, improved soil and water quality across 6,000 hectares through eliminated chemical pesticides, and a more resilient supply chain with diversified international clients seeking accountability 🌿 Slow Coffee, supported by the Landscape Resilience Fund (LRF), is a coffee company founded in 2018 working to convert degraded monoculture production lands into agroforestry systems across Southeast Asia. Until now, they have achieved revenue growth close to two-fold year-on-year, expansion from 30 to 300 employees by 2025, and over 1,000 hectares of agroforestry creating wildlife habitat through 430 shade trees per hectare while restoring ecosystem services like soil quality, carbon sequestration, and pollination 🌱 These projects prove the benefits of changing the mindset from viewing nature-related finance as just expenses, to recognising them as strategic investments that can help generate savings, increase revenue, and enhance market positioning. 🔗 Read the full TNFD report here: https://lnkd.in/e3h9uKtY Jaap de Jong Avital van Meijeren Karp Claire Vredenbregt David Boyd Shephard Andrew Zonde Sara Garcia Ortiz Laura Halonen Nicolas P.
