“Keppel-led consortium to advance #ammonia project on Jurong Island” October 3, 2025, - Aida Čučuk “The Energy Market Authority of Singapore (EMA) and the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) have appointed the consortium led by asset manager and operator Keppel to conduct the next phase of the project to provide a low- or #zerocarbonammonia solution on Jurong Island for #powergeneration and #bunkering.” “Subject to the findings of the FEED studies, the project seeks to develop an end-to-end ammonia solution to generate 55 to 65 MW of electricity from imported low- or zero-carbon ammonia via #directcombustion in a #combinedcyclegasturbine. Furthermore, it aims to facilitate #ammoniabunkering at a capacity of at least 0.1 million tons per annum. The project has yet to reach the final investment decision to formally proceed.” “This initiative is part of Singapore’s #NationalHydrogenStrategy, launched in 2022, which outlines the country’s approach to exploring #lowcarbonhydrogen as a #decarbonizationpathway as part of the nation’s commitment to achieve #netzeroemissions by 2050.” “Ammonia is considered a ready and available #hydrogencarrier with an established #internationalsupplychain for industrial use, and can be stored and transported over long distances.” https://lnkd.in/euwKxTdS Source- original post Read all my posts #MariusPreston

Breaking News: Singapore approves low-carbon electricity imports from Sarawak Big news in the energy world Energy Market Authority (EMA) has just granted has granted Conditional Approval to Sembcorp Utilities Pte Ltd, which is working with its consortium partner, Sarawak Energy Berhad, to import 1 gigawatt (GW) of low-carbon electricity from Sarawak, Malaysia to Singapore. This marks a new phase of energy partnership between both nations for renewable energy on a long term basis. What this this good? Singapore is one step closer to tapping into regional renewable energy - and decarbonising its grid beyond whats possible locally. The imports will come across via a new transmission system by Sarawak all the way to Singapore. This is one of the means and ways of the ASEAN Power Grid (APG). The project is expected to begin commercial operations by 2035. #renewableenergy #scope2 #ASEANPowergrid
