Internal vertical walls in hollow parts can trap loose powder after a print. By tapering these walls, ideally between 30° and 45°, you create a natural slope that helps powder flow out during depowdering. This reduces residual material, cuts weight, and lowers the risk of contamination in functional parts. It’s a quick win for engineers looking to optimize designs for additive manufacturing. One of those is particularly difficult to find nowadays and is obsolete since a very long time. The very little number of left-over parts on the market have a very long storage time and therefore a reduced reliability. These parts DCOS has now replaced for the first time is a 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗯𝘂𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝘆𝗽𝗲 𝗖𝗣-𝗙𝗕𝟬𝟲-𝗘. In a UNISET press in Zagreb, these modules were partly replaced by an assembly that provides the same functionality without the need of any software-changes in the control-system of the machine. The machine stop time can be extremely short, meaning a production changeover might be sufficient to do this step by step. There is also no need to change all of the obsolete components the same time. Thus the costs can be kept low. Little product – big relieve. More information needed?
