This Thanksgiving, we’re grateful for the food banks and community organizations working year-round to ensure everyone has access to nourishing meals. Their impact is essential—and especially felt today. If you’re able, consider supporting your local food bank. A little help goes a long way.

💡 Giving Tuesday inspiration: The Lucile Packard Foundation for Children's Health turned gratitude and storytelling into remarkable results. With last year’s “Making Futures Bright” campaign built in GoFundMe Pro’s Campaign Studio, the team centered real patient stories and a heartfelt mission—keeping their storytelling and visuals front and center across every touchpoint. The result? A 44% increase in funds raised year over year and a deeper connection with their community. It’s a powerful example of how authentic storytelling—paired with the right tools—can drive real impact this Giving Season. Read the case study → https://bit.ly/3MbLQwm

This is what happens when mission-driven nonprofits and impact creators team up 💚 Storytelling efforts like these helped GoFundMe earn a #ShortyImpact Award this week—recognizing our creator-led approach to driving empathy and real support for communities in crisis. One standout example is our collaboration with Direct Relief and Kalina Silverman. This summer, Kalina traveled with Direct Relief to Texas to document the devastating floods. Direct Relief was providing emergency supplies and supporting local responders on the ground. Kalina met families beginning to rebuild, Texas Search & Rescue teams navigating rapidly rising waters, and volunteers stepping in for their neighbors. Her videos helped bring attention to a community working to recover. This trip is part of Kalina’s broader impact through the GoFundMe Creator Program and our GoFundMe Pro partnerships—from driving more than $2 million in donations for Los Angeles wildfire survivors through her videos to spotlighting long-term recovery in North Carolina after Hurricane Helene. Her work keeps survivors’ stories visible long after the headlines fade. 💚 Our partnership with Direct Relief, and creators like Kalina, is at the heart of our award-winning approach: pairing trusted nonprofits with mission-driven storytellers to turn real stories into real action. YOU KNOW I’M ABOUT TO LOSE MY MIND (in the best way) over this GivingTuesday ask 😆 🫶 If you’ve followed me for more than 10 minutes, you know I love #GivingTuesday as a catalyst for growing monthly giving…and World Central Kitchen just dropped this email into my husband’s inbox: 👉 They’re going all-in on acquiring 20,000 new monthly donors. Sustainable. Recurring. Community-driven revenue. Here’s what they’re doing exceptionally well: 1️⃣ Setting a bold, specific goal: “20,000 new monthly donors” creates urgency, momentum, and a sense of shared purpose. 2️⃣ Using warm, community-centric language: They’re welcoming people into their community. 3️⃣ Smart segmentation: They referenced my husband’s previous disaster gift and connected it to the impact of monthly giving. 4️⃣ A clear WHY on the donate page (although I think it should be bolded): - “Monthly support gives us the stability to move quickly, activate local partners, and keep our kitchens running when communities need comfort the most.” - I also love the activity section of the page showing recent donations, which adds a layer of social proof - showing others are in this with you. Now…you know there are a few things I’d still adjust on the landing page (I can’t turn off the strategist in my brain 😂), but overall? I’m VERY excited to watch this unfold! I’ll be doing a full post-GT recap in my weekly Mastermind Memo newsletter.: https://lnkd.in/epi5X7mN

We were honored this week to bring home a #ShortyImpact Award for Emergency Relief, recognizing our efforts to use storytelling that drives recovery. When disasters hit, support often fades long before survivors even begin rebuilding. That’s why we’ve been pairing purpose-driven creators with GoFundMe organizers in crisis zones — a model we’ve now repeated across multiple disasters and will continue to build on. Partners like Kalina Silverman of Big Talk and Direct Relief have helped us capture first-person stories with care, keep survivor needs in the spotlight, and reignite support long after the headlines disappear. We are so grateful for this recognition — and even more thankful for the people of Altadena, the Pacific Palisades, Asheville, Central Texas, and Jamaica, for sharing their stories, as well as creators like Kalina who make this work possible. 📊 We’ve been digging into the data from GoFundMe Pro campaigns, and one thing is clear: data eats algorithms for breakfast. Campaigns using Pro’s Intelligent Ask Amount tool are raising up to 7% more revenue overall, and seeing a >5%+ lift in recurring conversions. Because we can analyze patterns across millions of giving sessions, nonprofits get real choice in how they optimize. Intelligent Ask Amounts aren’t one-size-fits-all; they offer multiple, goal-based options so organizations can decide what will give them the biggest yield — whether that’s maximizing one-time gifts, boosting conversions, or growing recurring donors. We’re inspired by how nonprofits are using these tools to strengthen their fundraising, sustain their missions, and deepen relationships with their communities. Our goal is to keep building technology that helps them do even more of what they do best — make a difference. Direct Relief is honored to be recognized as a key partner in a project led by GoFundMe that received a Shorty Impact Award (presented by Shorty Awards) last night in the Storytelling That Drives Recovery – Crisis category. The award-winning entry was part of a broader GoFundMe campaign using creator-led storytelling to highlight the experiences of survivors and first responders after disasters. As part of this effort, GoFundMe partnered with Kalina Silverman of Make Big Talk on a Texas floods segment developed in collaboration with Direct Relief. Kalina joined Direct Relief’s team on the ground and shared content highlighting the work of TEXSAR: Texas Search and Rescue during the response. Direct Relief is grateful for the meaningful impact of this collaboration with Kalina and GoFundMe and reinforces its commitment to strong partnerships during emergency response.
