🚢 Combatting illicit trafficking at #Thailand's ports The UNODC Passenger and Cargo Control Programme (#PCCP) was pleased to organize a joint visit for UNODC, French Customs (Attaché douanier pour l'Asie du sud-est DGDDI) and other law enforcement attachés to the Port of #LaemChabang, one of the regions largest ports, supported by UNODC and the World Customs Organization. The UNODC Regional Representative for Southeast Asia and the Pacific, together with the UNODC PCCP Regional Coordinator, joined French Customs to review port infrastructure, inspect high-risk shipments and identify customs violations, aiming to advance inter-agency cooperation and strengthen risk-based targeting, contributing to safer, more secure global supply chains. 💪Currently supporting a network of over 190 strategically positioned, nationally owned inter-agency units in 89 countries, PCCP strengthens capacities of border management authorities at air, sea, and land borders to intercept illicit commodities and high-risk passengers along global trafficking routes, while facilitating legitimate trade. With generous support of the Australian Border Force, Thailand was the first country in Southeast Asia to join PCCP in 2015 and continues to demonstrate strong commitment to secure its borders and protect its communities. UNODC extends its appreciation to French and Thai Customs, as well as the Laem Chabang Port authorities for the excellent collaboration and hospitality.🤝 #DGDDI #DRI #WCO #ABF Siri Bjune I Cristina Iampieri I Delphine Schantz I Thomas Dixon I Topan R. | Rémi Tuma
