Our computer wouldn’t be of much use without applications, so take a tour of the open source software included in Ubuntu. When we think of essential applications in today’s connected world, a web browser is at the top of the list.

When considering Ubuntu’s ethos, Firefox ticks all the boxes. It’s open source, privacy-focused, and has a thriving community of passionate users and developers. In Chapter 3, we discussed the many benefits of open source software and its role in Ubuntu. The openness of Firefox gives us a great deal of confidence and trust in Firefox. However, Mozilla, the organization behind Firefox, is about more than just openness. Mozilla invests in keeping our data safe with an ever-growing list of privacy features.
