Exploring audio editing tools
Once we have imported audio or recorded audio in REAPER, a crucial activity in the production process begins: editing. Audio editing is the stage where we adjust and modify the takes and files we have in the project so that we achieve the desired result.
For example, during the editing process, we will clean up takes or remove any noises that may be audible. We will also select the best parts of the recordings we have made, leaving only those that work properly in the project. In editing, we also move, copy, and arrange recordings at different points in the project, for example, to create sections in a song or repeat parts that were only recorded once.
In Chapter 8 through to Chapter 11, we will explore editing techniques and tools suitable for various applications, such as music production and podcast creation. For now, let’s look at the basic audio editing tools used in all kinds of projects.
