Editing vocals and instruments
Now that we have a basic musical section, we can start editing and shaping its sounds. The goal is to achieve more interesting sounds that have their own distinctive character.
The adjustments we will see in this section are optional since modifying sounds is a subjective aspect of music production. However, the objective is to show techniques and resources that can broaden our perspective on what we can do with sounds.
Adjusting the pad sound
We will start by applying some equalization to the pad track, as it has a sound that is too bright.
We insert a ReaEQ equalizer and reduce the highs using a Low Pass filter of around 1,000 Hz, as shown in Figure 9.19:

The use of Low Pass filters is very common in synthesizer sounds as they help control the amount of harmonics in the sound.
