MAX WEBER Concept of Power

Max Weber defined authority as legitimized power that is accepted by people. He identified three categories of authority: traditional authority based on long-standing traditions, charismatic authority derived from an individual's charisma and abilities, and legal authority that is legitimized through a consciously created legal system. Power is the ability to control others' behavior through resources and position, while authority involves a reciprocal relationship where commands are obeyed due to custom, devotion, or recognition of legitimacy.
