Brief History Background: In prehistoric times
the Iberian Peninsula, also known as Modern Spain, developed the Latin name Hispania from the Roman territory that covered the Iberian Peninsula. Through time a variety of both small and large kingdoms became states and restrictions from the government soon started to rise. In 1492 the Spanish Empire was launched after the success journey of Christopher Columbus. This lead to the Spanish Inquisition where Jews and Muslims who refused to convert were banned from the country. Spain became the strongest state in Europe by having full control over the largest overseas Empire in the world through the 1500s-1650s. Due to Spains European Wars, much economic damage was caused.

Spain Parliament: The general courts also known as
Cortes Generals, is the legislature of Spain. The lower house also known as the Congress of Deputies and the upper house which is the Senate, make up the bicameral parliament.
