Experiment No. 3 in Chemistry: I. Objective - To Determine The Freezing Point of Solutions

The document summarizes an experiment to determine how solutes affect the freezing point of solutions. Students prepared homemade ice cream using ingredients like flavoring powder, condensed milk, cream, and cookies. They mixed the ingredients into a blender and froze the mixture in a container surrounded by ice and salt. Students then measured the temperature of the freezing mixture after set time intervals, finding that it decreased over time as it froze, reaching -11.5 degrees Celsius after 60 minutes. The objective was to observe how adding solutes affects the freezing temperature of the solution.

I. Objective -To determine the freezing point of solutions.

-To know how the solute affects the temperature of solution.

II. Materials Flavoring (a shake powder of Cookies n Cream was used) Salt Container Gulaman Sugar Zip lock Condensed milk Nestle cream Cookies

III. Procedure 1. Prepare the all the materials to be used in the Homemade Ice Cream Experiment. 2. Mix the powder, Condensed milk, cream and gulaman to the blender. 3. Shake the mixture. 4. After shaking for some minutes. Try to taste your ice cream again. You can add the cookies now to make your ice cream more satisfying. 5. Put a sugar if the ice cream is not that sweet. 6. Put it in a zip lock then in a container. Put many slat and ice to freeze the ice cream.

7. Wait for it to be frozen then measure the temperature after the id time.
