Transporting SAP BW Object
1.1. Introduction A SAP transport is a package used to transfer data from one SAP installation to another. The SAP transports are used to implement some new features in a production system. An SAP transport consists of several files. The communication between the source systems and the BI systems takes place when the metadata is replicated and the data is loaded using an RFC (Remote Function Call).

These files are usually located in 5 separate folders within the OS: a. b. Data files - Contains the transport data, i.e. the actual data to be transported. Cofiles - Contains information on change requests, i.e. different steps of a change request and their exit codes. c. d. e. Profile files - It contains profile parameter. Transport log - Logs, trace files, and statistics. Support packs - Contains update and enhancement related files.
1.2. Sequences The Transports sequence to the QC/Production are captured in these transports is give below: a. Base Objects b. Info Providers c. Transfer Rules d. Update Rules e. Process Chains f. Report Objects g. User exits in any order
1.3. Step by Step Procedure a. Open tcode RSA1 and click Transport Connection.

Click Object Types.

Select Object. Click

Double click on
e.
Choose one infoobject and click Transfer Selection.
f.
Click on the Truck Icon to transport the collected object(s). The transport is now created.
g.
Change Pakcage.
h.
Create New Request.
i.
Click Save.
j.
The system will generate new request. Click OK.
k.
Go to SE01. Fill User. Press Enter.
l. Choose the Transport request that needs to be released. Click on the TRUCK icon or press F9. First release the child request
m. Then the parent request. The request is released now.
