Facts about Education in Ancient Greece.
Children started school at age7 at the age of 18-20 Spartan males and females would have to pass a fitness exam if males didn't pass the would be lower class citizens if Females didn't pass they would not be allowed to have a husband in Athenian schools they learned reading, writing, philosophy, music and math in Spartan schools they learned music, wrestling, swimming hunting, javelin, running and combat In Sparta women were given more freedom.

There were two types of education in Ancient Greece. There was Athenian and Spartan education. In Sparta the purpose of education was to produce solider citizens. Both boys and girls got an education. They both learned mostly physical activities such as fighting. Girls were treated a little bit better than the boys. The purpose of Athenian education was to make students prepared for war and peace. They learned some physical activities as well as math reading music philosophy and astronomy.
