Revit & Property Lines
When using the table method to enter property lines, Revit expects property lines to be drawn in a continuous loop from start to finish. This creates problems because in the real world, parallel property lines typically use the exact same directional information. Property lines usually dont reverse direction from say (N 303030 W) to (S 303030 E). You can reverse the direction of a property line by editing Revits property line table, but when you then use Revit to tag your property lines they won't match your survey. Here is one way to make property lines close and label correctly: 1) Use the table method to enter all of your property lines. (Don't worry now if it doesn't look right.) 2) Using detail lines, sketch directly over the property lines that you just made. 3) Erase your original property lines so that you are left with just your detail lines. 4) Reposition your detail lines so that they form the correct property line boundary. 5) Using the property line tool in "sketch" mode, redraw over the top of your detail lines. Dont draw your lines in a loop but instead make sure you sketch your lines in the direction that the bearings indicate. (If your bearing is N 303030 E you should be sketching the property line from the lower left to the upper right.) 6) Erase the leftover detail lines 7) Now when you tag your property lines the bearings should all match what is printed on your survey. 8) Dont convert this sketched property line back into a table property line because all of the property line tags will then revert back to their reversed labeling.
