In terms of the ADEPT Performance Standards, what are your professional strengths? How have you built on these strengths so far, and how do you plan to do so in the future? In terms of the ADEPT Performance Standards, my professional strengths would be long range planning (APS 1), short range planning (APS 2), establishing and maintaining high expectations for learners (APS 4), providing content for learners (APS 6), monitoring, assessing, and enhancing learners (APS 7), maintaining an environment that promotes learning (APS 8), managing the classroom (APS 9), and fulfilling professional responsibilities (APS 10). I built on the strength of long range planning and short range planning by establishing appropriate learning goals and by identifying the instructional strategies to necessary to meet the needs of my students. I have built on APS 4 by clearly communicating to my students what I expect of them. I built on APS 6 by preparing to present content to the learners and presenting it in a way they fully understand. I built on APS 7 by remaining aware of my students performance in order to guide instruction and provide them with the necessary feedback. I have built on APS 8 and APS 9 by maintaining an environment that encourages learning maximizing instructional time by controlling students behavior. I built on APS 10 by remaining professional at all times and being an advocate for students. I attend professional development meeting, professional learning communities meetings, awards programs, and committee meetings. Sometimes you think you know everything there is to know about teaching but teachers learn each day as well as the students. I have used my student teaching experience has a learning one and I have taken away knowledge that will prepare me for the teaching profession. 2. In terms of the ADEPT Performance Standards, what are your professional challenges? How do you plan to meet these challenges? In terms of ADEPT Performance Standards, my professional challenges have been planning assessments and using data (APS 3). I have met this challenge of planning assessments and using data by using a variety of assessments to gather data. Also, I made sure everything on the assessment was clearly taught to the students to decrease any confusion 3. Describe your students overall progress and achievement. What insights have you gained into ways to improve student progress and achievement? My students are improving each day. Some of them are not where they should be but they are trying really hard. I have gained insight as far as more effective instructional strategies. This will help more with student performance because it will allow them to be adjusted to different ways of learning. Also, I have gained insight into consistently asking questions to check for

understanding. These insights will not only help my students but they will help me in understanding effective ways to reach them. 4. How will you use the knowledge you have gained through this professional selfassessment to promote your continuous professional growth and collaboration? I will use the knowledge gained through this professional assessment to build upon where I need to go. Once I am able to identify my weaknesses, then they are easier to work on each day. I can continue to identify them and reflect upon them each day. As far as my strengths, I will continue to work hard to grow professionally in them. I want my weaknesses to turn into my strengths in order for me to gain more professional growth.
