CRP recommends the use of spray shields with all our PTFE lined bellows. They provide protection
from uncontrolled spray out if either the flange joint sealing or PTFE bellows fail. Many safety
regulations advise that secondary containment should be used and that companies should limit the
consequences to people and the environment of any major accidents which occur. Whilst our safety
shields are not designed to contain the line pressure of any leaks they are utilised to dissipate the
force of any liquid spray out or emitted vapour mist allowing the leak to be more readily contained and
managed.
