EXERCISE 11 - CREATING YOUR OWN SPREADSHEET

The Toronto District School Board has approached the Jarvis Business department
requesting the development of a student payroll spreadsheet.

Students are paid $10.00 per hour for the first 35 hours worked each week. Any hours
worked beyond the first 35 are considered to be overtime hours which are paid at a rate
of $15.00 per hour.

The TDSB provided you with the following student information:

Regular Overtime
Student Hours Hours
Worked Worked
Chan, D 32 0
Bilykh, D 35 7
Ross, J 35 3
Lee, T 34 0
Arreaga, K 35 5
Lister, D 35 10
Mohan, S 24 0

Create formula or functions to calculate:

• Regular Weekly Pay for each student – set the regular hourly rate as an absolute
cell address in the formula
• Weekly Overtime Pay for each student – set the overtime hourly rate as an
absolute cell address in the formula
• Total Weekly Pay for each student – use the AutoSum function
• Average of the Total Weekly Pay for each student – use the Average function

Add a variety of Excel formatting features.

Save the spreadsheet file as ex11.

Add a footer.
