Subject: Exemption under Rule 160 of the Aircraft Rules 1937 to Pilots, Flight
Engineers, CFIs, FII and other personal.

The Director General of Civil Aviation has reviewed the cases of the Pilots, Flight
Engineers, CFIs, FIIs and other personal exercising the privileges under exemption
granted in accordance with Rule 160 of the Aircraft Rules 1937.

Individual exercising the privileges under Rule 160 and the
operator/organisations they are employed with, are hereby directed to ensure that such
personnel obtain DGCA license in their respective category within a period of six
months from the issue of this Public Notice. All operators/ organisations are also
directed to report such cases to DGCA wherein no timeline for exercise of privilege
under Rule 160 has been prescribed and the holder is exercising privilege beyond one
year from the date of issue of such exemption.

The above instructions are for immediate compliance of all concerned. Non
adherence of the same shall attract appropriate action under the relevant provisions of
applicable rules/requirements against operators/ organisations/ individuals.
