Dear Dr. Gregoire,
I am a senior healthcare management student at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. As a
requirement of my bachelors degree program in healthcare management, I am expected to participate in an
internship at a healthcare facility to gain first-hand experience with departments or individual supervisors
that perform management duties. I would like to fulfill my requirement at your facility by performing 4
semester credit hours, which equates to 20 hours per week throughout the fall semester of 2015.
I have a strong desire to work in a healthcare setting and would be willing to work with one or more
departments throughout my 10 weeks to gain an overview of the different divisions that are necessary to
meet the needs of the staffing and to provide quality patient care services. To work with Department
Directors or mid-level or upper-level executives would be a great opportunity for me since I am planning to
pursue a career plan in health management. I am most interested in the health care areas of womens health
services, behavioral health, and primary care services. If any of these areas might be an option for my
internship. I am enclosing my resume for your review. I will contact your office within a couple of weeks to
see if we can arrange a meeting to discuss my request to complete my internship experience with someone in
