Unicef 2014 Resolution

The UNICEF committee proposed a resolution to establish Education and Protection Centres for Children (EPCC) to address the increasing number of children affected by disasters worldwide. The resolution was signed by 20 countries and sponsored by Japan, Norway, United Arab Emirates, and Switzerland. The EPCC would provide education, healthcare, shelter, and family support services to children impacted by armed conflicts and natural disasters. The resolution encourages more countries to join and support the EPCC to help reduce the percentage of children harmed by disasters through community involvement and quick evacuation responses.
