Jeffersonian Notation

This document provides a summary of Jeffersonian Transcription Notation, which is a system used to transcribe speech. It lists various symbols and their meanings used in transcription, such as brackets to indicate overlapping speech, equal signs to show continuation of interrupted utterances, and parentheses for timed pauses or micropauses. Other symbols convey paralinguistic features like rising and falling pitch, emphasis, volume, and prolongation of sounds. The notation aims to capture both the linguistic and non-verbal elements of interactions during transcription.
