SPECIFICATION OF CHECK VALVE.

Check Valve is specified in specification with following information:


1. Type of Check Valve.
2. End Condition.
3. Rating.
4. Facing finish for Flanged Valves.
5. Material of construction. (Body and Trim)
6. Type of construction.
7. Installation Type.
8. Valve Dimensional Standard.
9. End condition standard.
TYPE OF CHECK VALVE

Ball Check Valve : upto 11/2


Duel Plate Lug Check : 2 and Above.
Soft Seated Ball check valves upto 204 degree C maximum fluid temp.
Spring loaded ball check valves can be installed horizontal or vertical,
but they are used only when corrosion is allowed (CS System).
No Spring Ball Valves are either Horizontal or Vertical Type.
END TYPE

Ball Check Valves : SW for normal valves without PTFE Trim.


Ball Check Valves : Flanged for Soft-Seated 2-304/PTFE Trim Valves.
Duel Plate Lug Check Valve: 2 and above :: Flanged
RATING

SW : 800#
Flanged : Min. 300# for small bore (11/2 and smaller).
150# and above.

FACING FINISH

TYPE OF CONSTRUCTION

Ball Check Valve: Upto 11/2 Flanged : BC API 602 L7/4 No Spring. For
both normal (SW) and soft seated (flanged).
Dual Plate Lug Check Valve: Metal Seated, Spring Loaded API 594.
INSTALLATION TYPE

Horizontal or Vertical as required by Piping layout.


To be specified only when Check Valve is not spring loaded.
Different Ball Check Valves for these type installation types used.
VALVE DIMENSIONAL STANDARD

API 602 : Ball Check Valve.


API 594 : Dual Plate Lug Check Valve.
END CONDITION STANDARD

ASME B16.5 : Upto 24.
