Analysis and Conclution

The document analyzes and summarizes the results of neutralization experiments. Dilute oxalic acid solution remained colorless with phenolphthalein indicator, showing it is acidic. When titrated with sodium hydroxide, the solution turned pink, indicating the formation of a base. The average normality of the sodium hydroxide was calculated to be 0.122 N. Vinegar was also titrated with sodium hydroxide, turning from colorless to pink and allowing calculation of its acetic acid concentration at an average of 69.63%.

ANALYSIS AND CONCLUTION

Neutralization
0,632 gram H2C2O4.2H2O(s) white powder dilute with aquades become H 2C2O4.2H2O(aq)
colorless solution. Because H2C2O4.2H2O(s) soluble in aquades.
H2C2O4.2H2O(aq) add with aquades and 3 drops PP colorless, the solution still colorless.
Because based on the range of PP, when the solution is Acid the color of solution is colorless.
When the oxalate solution titrates with NaOH solution the color of solution becomes pink soft
because the solution contain by Weak Acid and Strong Base. So, it forms base salt. And the PP
indicates it.
The volume of titrant (NaOH) solution is V1 = 20,8 ml; V2 = 20,2 ml; V3 = 20,6 ml. in the
first experiment we get the value of normality of NaOH solution is 0,120 N. in the second
experiment we get the value of normality of NaOH solution is 0,124 N. in the third experiment
we get the value of normality of NaOH solution is 0,121 N. and the average of normality is 0,122
N. it prove that the normality of NaOH approach 0,1 N.
Application
25 ml vinegar colorless dilute with aquades colorless 100 ml and add with 2 drops of PP
indicator colorless become colorless solution. Because vinegar is Acid, so, when PP indicator
added in the acid solution, the color is colorless. After that the solutions titrate with NaOH
solution the color of solution become pink soft. Because the solution contain by Weak Acid and
Strong Base so it form base salt. And the PP indicate it.
The volume of titrant (NaOH) solution is V1 = 23,8 ml; V2 = 23,6 ml; V3 = 23,95 ml. in
the first experiment we get contain of CH 3COOH in vinegar equal to 69,6%, in the second
experiment we get contain of CH3COOH in vinegar equal to 69,1% and the third experiment we
get 70,1%. And the average of contain CH3COOH in the vinegar 69,63%
